International ASMR day

Today is International ASMR Day.

ASMR is that tingly feeling in the head and spine that many people get when they are at the opticians, or the library, or other quiet places where someone is making soft sounds and giving careful attention to something.

In the past few years, a sizeable community of “ASMRtists” has grown on YouTube. These channels aim to trigger the feeling of ASMR in viewers, but even if you don’t have the ASMR response they are just very soothing and chilled out. For my sensitive ear condition, these videos are blissful and nowadays I spend a lot of time listening to ASMR instead of music. It’s the antithesis of the rest of YouTube. No fast edits or loud noise, just a mellow feeling of serenity and peace.
