As I don’t trust YouTube partner system as a means of making a living any more, I’ve created an account on a site called Patreon.
Patreon allows you to pledge a small amount of money each time I make a new music video. In return I’ll give you rewards such as free MP3s, t-shirts, personalised rhymes and secret shit.
You can choose to pledge any amount from $1 to over 9,000 – you can also set a monthly maximum to make sure you don’t pay more than you intended to.
No matter what happens with YouTube I’m one step ahead, there’s always a way for DIY artists to make it online .
