Announcement regarding my health

If you’re wondering why I’m quiet on the music front lately, it’s because I am suffering some health problems with my ears, making it hard to work. I haven’t talked about it publicly but now it’s really starting to threaten my possibility of carrying on as a musician.

I got a severe ear infection in February and have been suffering strange side effects since, that have got significantly worse as the year went on. I can constantly hear popping, clicking and crackling in my left ear and a feeling of discomfort in it when I swallow.

The condition has now started spreading to my right ear, and also every time I take a footstep I hear a sharp cracking sound between my ears. The ENT doctors on the NHS cannot seem to agree what it is, one even suggested that because it didn’t fit any diagnostic criteria that I was imagining it. Sadly I have lost faith in the NHS and am now considering private consultation, which I have never had to do before.

I really want to get my health sorted and back on track making as much music as I can. So if you know of any experts in the field, or people who have had similar problems and found solutions, please let me know. Another thing I haven’t mentioned much is that my eyesight was damaged several years ago leaving me in chronic pain (which is why I wear sunglasses a lot, not cos I make rap music), and now it looks like my hearing is crumbling too. I am obviously depressed and scared about this and I want to fix it.

Even if you can’t help me specifically, I want to say to you all personally as fans and supporters that I love the fact you are there for me talking to me and interacting with me. I always feel like you’ve got my back. So thank you to my family, friends, fans, cat for propping me up while I try to fight through this.

    Good luck!

Eesh, that sucks! We’re all looking forward to you getting better, whether or not you can continue producing music. (Of course, we’re all also hoping it continues!)

The only good specialists I’ve heard of personally are in the States, up in Boston. Ah, well. Get better soon, Dan!

    Hey Dan,
    That sounds yeurky…
I highly recommend booking an appointment with a kinesiologist, you can find one here:

it’s a non-invasive technique which uses muscle testing to access information stored in the body, it is (almost) unbelievably accurate and effective, I can’t recommend it highly enough!
Good luck, and thank you for the great music and vids!

I wanna say I know your feeling, but I don’t. I’m just a really huge fan. I’m such a huge fan of your work, my future wife is a registered nurse, I’m sure we can find something to help you with your struggle. No person should deal with a constant pain. Get yourself a “little light” and have hope I’m sure something will happen.
